Wow...I must have done something right in the swath of my being.  Had  a managers meeting today, with the Director of Western Canada.  He congratulated and praised me in my new position and seemed to have a sense of pride in me. I got the same from my immediate 2 supervisors (Facility Manager and Security Manager). I'm not sure what I've done right, but the building owner told them that I was someone who has a good rep and that he has no problem working with me, or giving us projects as long as I'm included in the oversee.  I think I'm really liking this new commitment to the company.  Full of suprizes, always have something going on, doing my job and in doing so getting respected for just being myself.

It's good to know that the most perfect things in the world come to those who wait.  Or for lack of a better word(s) 'are patient'.  Finally, I got the promotion I'd been waiting for exactly one year to the day I started with the company.  The great part about it is that I got extras with it.  My Supervisor has given me more power around the workplace, employment  incentive bonus, extra week of 'hidden' vacation.  All this is more than I have ever had and more than my previous supervisor.  Meetings are the popular list item for the weekly agenda too many for my liking.  However, I did go to my first project meeting and ...guess what...I got my first project, a big one.  Status report due in three weeks.  Project completion in within 6.  Glad I got this one, it's a biggin'.

Oh yah, my official title is Technical Manager.  For which company, a major corporate one that I will refrain from actually listing for professional reasons, but a major one, that can drop 300 mill onto the table and say, we want this.  Not Oil and Gas either.

Busy Day

yes?
Started removing the damaged coils from the fan units this morning (that mushroom cloud keeps getting bigger).  Had dinner with Di's Uncle Ron (my homemade spaghetti and sauce) watched a movie.  Went to Ian's birthday party for 2 hours and got the warmest reception and departure from everyone...especially Ian.  (was not expected to show).  Had a good time.

Chatted with Dianne on Live Messenger Video for 40 minutes, really miss her but felt good to see and hear her.  Looking forward to my trip out to BC.  (need to get a microphone)  Can't wait till tomorrows workday end to start all over again with friends and relationships...so far it has been excellent.

What Fantasy Archetype Are you?

The Seasoned Veteran Friend
You are the Seasoned Veteran Friend! You resemble Aragorn (Lord of The Rings), Merlin (Arthurian Legend), Han Solo (Star Wars), The Marquis (Neverwhere), Sirius Black (Harry Potter) and Chase (Wizard's First Rule). You are exceedingly loyal, tricky and hardy. You regularly pull the Unlikely Hero, Mentor and Pillor-of-Strength Love Interest out of trouble and into safety. Beware The Traitor, who will make your job intensely difficult. And don't coddle the Unlikely Hero too much, he has to learn how to fend for himself. Anyway, everyone admires you and your resourcefullness / reliability - good going!
